Chatham House AI Roundtable

Much like the Pegasus in this morning’s Chatham House AI Roundtable (that brought together diverse senior leaders from across EMEA), I was reminded that we are at the start of a (flying) leap into uncharted yet exciting territory.

My 5 AI takeaways (as it was Chatham House no specific examples are given):

*LLMs are practical & already impactful – e.g complex food delivery product substitution use cases can be solved relatively simply with ChatGPT

*”Shadow AI” is real – employees are finding workarounds if the business does not provide sanctioned AI tools

*Adoption is highest when we show people how to use AI through live examples rather than just telling them about it. “Show Don’t Tell”.

*Real world LLM business value is emerging fast in areas such as Real Time personalisation (e.g AI enabled checkouts), Scaled efficiencies (e.g chatbots resolving customer queries) & Waste reduction (e.g major retailers using LLM’s to help them cut food waste)

*Organisations set up for success are working in a hybrid styley (mix of in-house upskilling > innovation and with external partnerships & tools)

IMAGE NOTE: The image is actually based on a pegasus that was an amazing sculpture on the wall of the event venue. I have then used Gemini to augment the sculpture with the other elements (took less than 30 seconds with the correct prompts).
