quality time cost triangle
I love this triangle (called many things: Project Management Triangle, Triple Constraint, Iron Triangle, Good,/Fast/Cheap Triangle, etc)
…You can optimise two sides of the triangle, yet rarely all three simultaneously.
Leadership’s job is not to ignore the constraint, but to consciously choose the trade off.
When quality, time and cost are all ≈fixed; risk becomes the hidden fourth variable.
The quality-time-cost triangle isn’t a delivery constraint; it’s a decision making framework. High performing organisations don’t eliminate trade offs, they make them explicit and align on them early.
