Advanced operator queries are advanced search query words that have special meaning to Google.
I thought it would be useful to post some loved Google advanced operators. Whilst they are aimed at SEO ’ers they can also be used to aid PPC e.g. find out who the competition is as defined by Google, which content sites to target, etc.
Advanced Operator Queries
[site:] = Google will restrict the results to those websites in the given domain. For instance, [shoes site:www.tkmaxx.com] will find pages about shoes within www.tkmaxx.com. site: example
[related:] = lists web pages that are similar to a specified web page. For instance, [related:www.aa.com] will list web pages that are similar to the American Airlines homepage. Related: example
[link:] = will list webpages that have links to the specified webpage. For instance, [link:www.play.com] will list webpages that have links pointing to the Play.com homepage. Link: example
[allintitle:] = Google will restrict the results to those with all of the query words in the title. For instance, [allintitle: matchbox cars] will return only documents that have both “matchbox” and “cars” in the title. Allintitle: example
[intitle:] = Google will restrict the results to documents containing that word in the title. For instance, [intitle:wickes drill] will return documents that mention the word “wickes” in their title, and mention the word “drill” anywhere in the document. Intitle: example
[inurl:] = Google will restrict the results to documents containing that word in the url. For instance, [inurl:ninja sword] will return documents that mention the word “ninja” in their url, and mention the word “sword” anywhere in the document. Inurl: example

[keyword inurl:ifollow*.gif] or [keyword ifollow*.gif] in Google Image Search will reveal all the relevant blogs using the “U Comment – I Follow” badge. i.e. Alt tags leave a footprint and if you go to Google image search, type in your MDKW + “U Comment I follow” with and without quotes you’ll find a list of do follow blogs.
